Chapter 3 of 7
What it cannot do
Honest limits. Please read this before you rely on any number here.
It only looks at prices
It does not read balance sheets, profits, bad loans, news or management. A company can look calm on price and still be in trouble.
Dividends are left out
Returns are price-only. Cash dividends usually add something, so real results may be a little better, but the plan does not count on them.
The past does not repeat on schedule
The range is built from the last 10 years. NEPSE’s future can be calmer, or much rougher, than that.
Companies that disappeared are missing
Most companies that merged or were delisted are not in the stock list, so history looks a little better than it really was.
Prices are a day old
Plans use the last closing price. By the time you place an order the next day, prices will have moved.
One person’s algorithm
It is built and run by one person, not a licensed adviser or broker. It can have bugs. If something looks wrong, please tell me.
Nothing is guaranteed
For example, with Rs 50,000 now plus Rs 3,000 a month for 2 years, about 4 in 10 simulated paths ended below the money put in (prices of 29 Oct 2026). Only invest money you can leave alone for the whole period.
